Walls Tutorial:
ADDING COLOR TO YOUR SURVEY

  • by Rory O’Keefe, June 19, 2021

So, why am I writing a tutorial on how to change the colors of your survey in Walls?

Because the default colors are horrible and I can’t stand them… But you can also change the line colors to separate the main lines from the jump lines, and visually organize your survey.

Follow the below steps to use the Segments Tab and edit the color / style of your survey:

1. Open Walls and compile / review the project you want to edit.

2. Navigate to the Segments Tab.

3. Start by changing the Background Color (Bkgnd).

4. Next, expand the project folder to view the individual survey files.

5. Select the file you want to edit, then select Use Own.

A few more steps:

6. Change the Line Style and Color based on your personal preferences.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each survey file you want to edit.

8. Select Display Map.

Note that you can also change the colors / styles for the following:

  • Grid Lines

  • Passage Outlines

  • Selected Traverses

  • Notes

  • Labels

  • Markers

  • Flag Symbols
